Good morning!
Yesterday, I started off the day demonstrating exercises with the physical therapists, as the patients waiting for treatment followed along. Around nine o' clock, the doors were opened and the patients were allowed to enter. In the mornings, the patients that the therapists serve are all out patients, so there are many people who come to get their pain alleviated. I watched and followed the physical therapy students around as they interacted and prepared the machines for their patients. Later on, the head therapist let me do some ultrasound treatments. She would mark an 'X' on the area I needed to focus on and then told me to use to device in slow, even-pressured circular motions on the patient. It's actually a wrist and arm workout, as you need to do this continuously for several minutes on each of your patients. Around 11 o' clock, the number of people coming started to die down, so I mainly chatted with one of the therapists there. She wants to learn English, so we practiced some phrases she wanted to know and she showed me pictures of her two daughter, 3 and 5. My host mom was really busy on Monday, so I got to eat lunch with the other girls!
