Milly's Wednesday and Thursday in the NICU

Hello world! I think I'm officially the worst blogger ever. I....drum roll please...fell asleep again. 😬

Wednesday and Thursday, my second rotation was in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). I was super excited about this because I love being around and holding babies!

In the NICU, I got to hold and feed the babies, as well as watch as the nurses checked on the babies in the incubators. They were so cute and smelled good. Many of the babies in the NICU were born prematurely and had respiratory problems. One of the nurses said that 90% of the newborns do not survive, but the nurses try their best. They check the babies' vital signs every two hours and the nursing students were qualified.
All the nursing students spoke really good English, so it was nice to talk to them. We had good conversations and they helped me a lot while I was there.
The NICU has a sense of humor.
Baby stethoscopes!
