Nicole's Monday in Postpartum Ward and NICU

Today, Brooke and I were in the postpartum ward in the morning. We got to see "babies swimming", which is what all the nurses called bath time. The nurses also spent time teaching the mothers how to properly breast feed and clean the umbilical cord of the newborns.
It was so cute to see the families with the moms and newborns since they aren't allowed in the labor room.
Moms who give birth vaginally can go home after two days and moms with C-sections have to wait for at least three, depending on how the incision heals.

In the afternoon, we went to the NICU. We loved holding the babies who weren't in the incubators. It was nice to see parents visiting their children too.
Many of the babies are being tube fed because they are underweight. We saw a couple of premature babies who were intubated.
In Thailand, all the nurses call triplets "three twins". There are currently one set of triplets, one boy and two girls who just celebrated their one month birthday. They were all born weighing less than 3 pounds, but now only one is still being tube fed.

We had dinner with P'Mick and P'Aor at a local noodle place.
